With pride and style KK Kingston staff came into work on Saturday 14th September dressed in PNG colours and traditional bilas, celebrating 38 years of PNG independence. Every year Independence brings excitement. It is a time for families, villages, communities and a Nation to unite in fun, games, feasting and parades. It is a true wonder to see the beauty and variety of culture on display.
It is also an opportunity for reflection on our progress over these years of development. KK Kingston Ltd has been operating in PNG for over 40 years and like PNG it has come a long way from its humble origins. Over these years KK Kingston has been a stalwart of PNG industry, supporting PNG business through the hard times and the good. Championing PNG manufacturing, and as one of the nation’s largest employers, it has become an integral part of the communities in which we operate.
Like PNG, we attribute our successes to the hard work, dedication and talent of our people. The future holds many challenges. However Independence Day always reminds us of our potential. And for a day at least, we must try to choke our cynicism, and in a united spirit of hope, look to a future of inclusive growth and greater prosperity for all.
