Member for Samarai -Murua Supports Electorate with 119 Tuffa Tanks

The people of Samarai-Murua Electorate in the Milne Bay Province receive great support from elected member and Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Gordon Wesley.

Mr. Wesley made a purchase of 119 Tuffa tanks at KK Kingston Limited of which 60 purchased are 9000Litre tanks and 59 purchased are 3000Litre tanks with a total of K321, 957.15 from the DSIP funds. These tanks will be shipped over to the Province and distributed to the 18’000 households in his electorate who suffered the destruction caused by the Tropical Cyclone early April 2014.

Last year, Mr. Wesley introduced the “Healthy Island Living” concept in which he encourages his people in the electorate to take ownership of their lands and cultivate for their living. In line with this concept Mr. Wesley purchased thousands of iron sheets and tuffa tanks for his people to help rebuild houses that were destroyed by the cyclone.

Mr. Wesley thanked the company KK Kingston Limited for its great support in providing the materials needed. More of the Tuffa tanks will be purchased together with other materials such as toilet pit pedestal and sawyer water purifier to help support his people in the Samarai-Murua electorate.
